Thursday 20th January 2022
Dear brothers & sisters,
Despite vaccines, jabs and boosters, as well as being cautious and following all the many guidelines - Covid got me in the end! After a positive lateral flow test and a positive PCR test I'm now in self isolation but feeling okay. I'm an ex-monk so it's like a mini retreat for me.
The Bishop and the Dean (Fr. David Featherstone, Good Samaritan Parish, Burnley) have both been in contact to make sure I'm okay and I have everything I need. There obviously will be some changes for the next coming days. The usual e-newsletter will be sent out on Saturday but just to let parishioners know about the coming weekend Masses and times:
Saturday 22nd January
6:30pm Vigil Mass – Fr. Stamp
Sunday 23rd January
12noon Mass - Fr. Broadley
I received a get well card from some of the children at St. Mary's School (The Chameleons) which I would like to share with you, as it made me smile:
'Dear Fr. O'Brien,
I hope you feel better. I hope you come back to your church...we said a hail Mary for you...'
That's the best medicine – someone saying a prayer for me.
God Bless and keep praying.
Our Lady of Oswaldtwistle, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, pray for us.
Fr. O'Brien
