Hospital Call. This week I will be on Emergency Call for the Royal Blackbum Hospital. St. John Henry Newman Talk. In celebration of this new English saint, Fr. Laurence Gambella will speak on Newman's life and works, touching on "Newman's Heart", "Newman's Life" and "Newman's relevance for today" The talk will be at the Christian Heritage Centre, Stonyhurst College, Clitheroe, BB7 9PT on Thursday 24th October at 7:30pm. Tickets are £5 at the door
Month of the Dead. During the month of November, we traditionally pray for all those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. In the parish there will be numerous liturgies and Masses to allow people the opportunity to pray for deceased loved ones. Bereavement Service for all those who have died over the last year. Sat 9th 10am. Requiem Mass for all names placed in the Holy Souls Box in front of the Altar.
Sat 16th 10:30am. Blessing of Graves. At Accrington Cemetery and Dill Hall Lane Cemetery. First two Sunday's of November.
2020-The Year of the Word. The Bishops of England and Wales have announced that the year beginning in Advent l be a ‘Year of the Word,' with the theme The God who Speaks. Supported by the Bible Society, there will be many national and local events throughout the year. In our own diocese several initiatives are planned to highlight the Bible's importance for our lives and our worship.
Faith Formation. At the back of church there are a number of posters advertising events at the Christian Heritage Stonyhurst. Opportunities like these help us to grow in our faith and give us the confidence to dialogue with others about the Lord.
The Coffee Morning on Monday 14th October was a great success. We will be holding another one on Monday 11th of November. Please come along and join us
Service of Light For all children and babies who have died, will be held at St Joseph's RC Church Audley Service At 2pm on the 27th October 2019
Christmas-Musical Evening with The Encore Concert Band & St Marys Choir on 12th December Tickets will be on sale from next Saturday 26th October 2019, the cost will be £5.00 each which includes a mince pie, hot drink or a mulled wine.
Lourdes. Thank you to Eric Parr for the wonderful talk he gave on Sunday Afternoon. If people are interested in going on a Pilgrimage to Lourdes next year please let Eric know.
