Retreat. I ask for your kindness in praying for me this week as I go on retreat. A retreat is simply just time spent with the Lord in prayer and quiet contemplation and offers space for reflection. Every priest is required to go on, at the very least, one retreat a year so the Lord can feed, nourish and sustain them in their .ministry. Please know that I will be keeping you in my prayers next week. God Bless.
Lourdes Petitions. We have some parishioners going with the diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes next week. If you have any petitions (prayers written down in a sealed envelope) that you would like to be taken to the grotto where Our Lady appeared then post them to the presbytery by Tuesday (23rd July) lunchtime, Our Lady always brings our prayers to Christ her Son.
Sacramental Programme. If you have a child starting Year 3 in September or a child aged 7+ who has not made their First Holy Communion and who would like to do so in 2020 then please call into the sacristy before or after Mass and sign the list, giving you and your child's details. We will contact you then in September.
Fr. O'Brien Summer Visiting. Last summer I really enjoyed visiting families and blessing parishioners'
homes. It gave me the chance to get to know more about St
. Mary's and its story. I've been here just over a year and am still meeting new people and learning new things as well as making plenty of mistakes. If you live in the parish and would like a visit then contact the parish office. Tel: 232 433.
Little Church. Children's Liturgy has now finished for the summer and will begin again in September.
Feast of St. Anne. On Friday (26th July) is the feast of St. Anne, the mother of Our Lady. To celebrate their patron saint the parish of St. Anne's, Accrington will have solemn Mass at 7pm. Our Dean, Fr. Stamp, has warmly invited all of us here at St, Mary's to join him and his parishioners for this wonderful occasion.
Parish Centre. Will be closed EVERY Saturday from 28th July 2019 until J!" August 2019. Open Fridays and Sundays as usual.

8pm on the following dates: 5th Sept
