Diocesan News. The Trustees of the Diocese of Salford have appointed Pauline Morgan to the newly created role of Diocesan Chief Operating Officer. Pauline joins a growing number of Chief Operating Officers already in place in other dioceses across the country. She will take up the role in June. The experience and skills Pauline brings, together with her background and commitment to the Church, will allow her to play a vital role in our diocesan journey. Pauline is a parishioner at Our Lady and the English Martyrs, Urmston and has been involved with the life of the Church for many years, including being actively involved in the diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes each year.

Christians in the Holy Land. George, a member of the Bethlehem Art Group, who came last weekend to the parish would like to thank all those who were so generous in their prayers and support. He asks that we continue to pray for all Christians in the Holy Land who are still struggling to give witness to Our Lord.

Easter Chicks and Parish Raffle. This weekend our Easter Chicks go on sale with all proceeds going towards the church funds. Thank you to all those who have taken the time to knit, stich and sew. Tickets for the Parish Easter Raffle will also be available at the end of the weekend Masses.

Our Lady of Walsingham. The diocesan pilgrimage to Walsingham will take place on Saturday 4th May 2019. A coach will be departing for those in the Blackburn and Burnley areas at 7am approx. and leaving Walsingham at 5pm. The cost is £20 return. For more-information contact Fr. Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage. The 87th Annual Salford Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, will take place

from the 25th July 31st July, 2019 during the special ' Year of Saint Bernadette. ' For more information

Easter Windows. The list for those who want to sponsor a window/ statue for friends and family is at the back of the church.

Parish Meal. Thank you to all those who supported the parish meal at Franco's. A great night was had by all and the money raised for the church fund came to £410.

Christians in the Holy Land. This weekend the Bethlehem Art Group are here at St. Mary's. They are a Christian 'group who visit parishes around the country selling olive wood carvings made by families living in the Holy Land, who still live under constant deprivation and conflict. The sale of their products goes to. supporting these Christian families. Let's pray for our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, who each day continue to witness their faith in the Lord despite the many difficulties and hardships they endure.

Lent Library: At the back of church this week you will see a selection of small CTS (Catholic Truth Society) booklets. The topics range from - "The life of St. Margaret Clitherow" to "The Catholic Church's

position on infertility and fertility treatment". Please feel free to borrow a booklet for your spiritual reading during Lent. All we ask is that they are returned so that others may have a chance to read them.

St. Omen to Stonyhurst: 425 years of History through Objects. On Thursday 28th March Jan Graffius,

May Exhibition: This year it will be 125 years since the first parish priest, Fr. Brereton, arrived in Oswaldtwistle and with the help of the local Catholic community established our parish of St. Mary's. As part of the celebrations there will be an exhibition telling the story of our parish from 24th May - 2nd June. If you have any material, photos, documents or stories then please do contact John Hughes.

Easter Windows. At Christmas we were blessed to have our church windows in the nave decorated with

flowers by some very talented ladies in the parish. Parishioners have suggested that at Easter they would like to sponsor a window for their family and friends and also in memory of loved apes. There will be a list at the back of the church next weekend for those who wish to sponsor a window for £15.

First Confessions. On Wednesday the children on the Sacramental Programme will make their first confession. Let us pray for them as the experience Jesus' forgiveness and mercy in this wonderful Sacrament.

Ossy Mills Group. The next meeting will be on Monday 25th March from 11 :3Gam.

Parish Meal. A reminder that the parish meal at Franco's is on Wednesday at 7pm.
