St. Patrick Missionary Society. Fr. Joseph Archibong who came two weeks ago to give a mission appeal
wrote this week to say "Thank You" for the warm welcome he received and for all donations which came to
the generous total of £251.51.

Lenten Retreat. Lent (begins next month) is always that wonderful time when we can reconnect and renew
our relationship with the Lord
. I have been lucky enough to secure Barbara Reed-Mason, a well-known
international retreat coordinator, to give us a week's retreat here at St Mary's. It will be an opportunity for
prayer and coming closer to the Lord. The retreat is known as the Kerygma Bible Course and will be over
one week from Monday 11th March - Friday 15th March starting at 7pm-9pm each night
. Everyone is
welcome, so do come and bring friends and family.

Safeguarding. This Wednesday, 13th February, from 5pm -7:30pm the diocesan safeguarding team will be
here at church to update people's DBS checks, for those who volunteer and undertake certain activities in
the parish. If you have not had your DBS updated in the last three years, or you are involved in a new
role/group/task in the parish then do come. To help speed the process up bring, if you can, your passport,
driving licence, birth certificate, national insurance number and a letter from the bank/doctor or a utility bill
with your address on. For any queries contact Nathan Keogh at the safeguarding office 0161 8172206.

Our Lady of Oswaldtwistle. Lewis & Lewis have removed the fire damaged reredos from the altar of Our
Lady of Oswaldtwistle and have taken it back to their workshop in Liverpool
. They are initially hoping to
have it restored by May. Let us continue to ask Our Lady to pray for our parish family.

Gift Aid. Many people have been asking about the Gift Aid Scheme and how it benefits the parish. We are
very lucky to have Sean Mullen who co-ordinates this for us and he will be available after both Masses this
weekend. If you are a tax payer, the Diocese can reclaim tax for our parish on your donations/weekly
collections. For every £1 you put in the collection (in a Gift Aid envelope) St Mary's will receive an
additional 25p. For more information and to sign up please see Sean Mullen.

St. Mary's Male Voice Choir. After the 10am Mass the choir will have their AGM at the back of church.
There is a warm invitation to any gentlemen who would like to join the choir.
