Welcome Br. Samuel Burke O.P. Br. Samuel Burke – A Dominican Friar – will be staying here at St Mary's during September. Br Samuel is a Deacon studying in Rome and preparing to be ordained a priest next year. . I know he will find a warm welcome here at St. Mary's as I have.


Friday Prayer Vigil. This Friday at 7pm there will be an opportunity at church to pray for those who are persecuted throughout the world and those who find themselves as refugees having to flee their homeland. Candlelight, Taize music and listening to the word of God will help us in this simple liturgy pray in solidarity with those who suffer. Everyone is welcome.


Children's Liturgy will begin again this week, 8th/9th September, our newly restored statue of Our Lady will be blessed at the evening mass, the feast of Our Lady's birthday. The children are invited to bring flowers to place before her statue.


ABC - About Being Catholic. If you or someone you know is thinking about being a Roman Catholic or simply just interested to know more about Catholicism then please let me know. I'll be starting ABC (About Being Catholic) sessions in late September. It's not an academic course and there are no exams or tests! It's just an opportunity to learn more about the prayer, beliefs and traditions of our family the Church. You maybe a "Cradle Catholic" who just wants to refresh your memory about the Faith or you maybe someone who is thinking about joining the Church – whoever you are you are more than welcome. All sessions are on a Thursday from 7pm -8:30pm at St. Mary's Church. (Dates for 2018: 20th Sept, 4th Oct, 11th Oct, 8th Nov, 15th Nov, 29th Nov, 13th Dec).


APF booklets are ready for collection in the Sacristry.

Dates for your diaryLourdes at Home weekend Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2018. On the Saturday there will be the Rosary at 6pm followed by the Vigil Mass and then the Torchlight Procession. On Sunday 7th October there will be a 10am Mass as usual and from 1pm-1:50pm Exposition of Blessed Sacrament, Benediction followed by Anointing of the sick at 2pm. Refreshments will be available after the service.
