THANK YOU So many people have been involved in so many different ways bringing Our Lady back
home last weekend. Thank you to everyone. The new title 'Our Lady of Oswaldtwistle seems to have caught
on very quickly and why not - I firmly believe if it wasn't for her prayers that fire could have been a lot
worse. So let's ask Our Lady of Oswaldtwistle to continue to pray for us.
Home Mission Sunday. In today's Gospel Jesus presents us, as disciples, with a challenging question,
'Who do you say I am?' For some the most challenging element of this question is whether we talk about
him at all
. Today on Home Mission Sunday we have been praying for the spread of the Gospel and in the
second collection when you leave church there will be the opportunity to support it financially. The money
you give to this collection is used to help Catholics in England and Wales become more confident in sharing their faith.
The Community Refugee Project. A member of the Community Refugee Project will be at the back of
church next weekend to give anyone who is interested a standing order form if they wish to contribute to the support of the Refugee Project
ADC - About Being Catholic. If you or someone you know is thinking about being a Roman Catholic or
simply just interested to know more about Catholicism then please let me know. I'll be starting ABC (About
Being Catholic) sessions in late September. It's not an academic course and there are no exams or tests! 

It's just an opportunity to learn more about the prayer, beliefs and traditions of our family the Church. You
maybe a "Cradle Catholic" who just wants to refresh your memory about the Faith or you maybe someone
who is thinking about joining the Church - whoever you are you are more than welcome. All sessions are on a Thursday from 7pm -8:30pm at St
. Mary's Church. (Dates for 2018: 20th Sept, 4th Oct, 11th Oct, 8th Nov, 15th Nov, 29th Nov, 13th Dec).
Dates for your diary. Lourdes at Home weekend Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2018. On the
Saturday there will be the Rosary at 6pm followed by the Vigil Mass and then the Torchlight Procession. On
Sunday 7th October there will be a l0am Mass as usual and from 1 pm -1.50pm Exposition of Blessed
, Benediction followed by Anointing of the sick at 2pm. Refreshments will be available after the
