Congratulations to Clifford and Margaret Starkie who celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary during the week. They will receive a Blessing during the Sunday Morning Mass.

St Mary's Lourdes Pilgrimage 2018: This year we are planning a parish pilgrimage to Lourdes.  We would like to determine how many people would like to go and their preferred dates. Our options are to go with the Diocese from 27th July - 2nd August or to go as an independent group in September.  If you would like to join us please place a tick indicating your preferred option on the form at the back of church.  This does not commit you to going, it is simply to help us plan.

There will be Coffee/Tea served after Masses this weekend

Fr John will be away on holiday 13th – 20th April. Fr Anthony McLaughlin will cover next weekend's Masses. During the week 23 – 27 Fr John will be packing up his belongings in the Presbytery.

Weekend 21st/22nd there will be the annual appeal made by the Missions and this year it will be the turn of the Society of African Missions (SMA). This is the society that Fr Anthony Dampson belongs to, though he is back in Nigeria at the present so is unable to be here with us.

Fr Sean O'Brien who will be taking over from Fr John, will be here for the weekend of 28th/29th April. Fr O'Brien is very much looking forward to being your Parish Priest. I am sure that he is the right priest for the parish. It will be his first role as a Parish Priest so I know that you will look after him and guide him around the area and introduce him to the various local ways.

Office hours this week are: Tuesday – Friday 9am – 12 noon

Fr John I will be going on holiday this Friday for a week but the office will be open. However, I will be around after my holiday until the 27th April. That last week I will be packing belongings. This weekend though is my last weekend and the weekends will be covered as above. I have already put a message in the monthly newsletter but will just add that I thank all of you who have supported me in any way at all during my time with you. May God reward you with his love.

My address in Horwich will be as follows: St Mary's RC Presbytery, 86 Chorley New Road, Horwich. BL6 5QJ

I have noticed it is a lot quicker to write than "Oswaldtwistle"!!!!!
