3rd Sunday of Lent

Ordinary Weekday Masses will take place in the sacristy: (Beginning at 9am Morning Prayer will precede the 9.15am Mass on Tuesday & Wednesday this week)

Tues: 9.15am Mass                       Wednesday: 9.15am

Thurs: 6.30pm Stations of the Cross followed by Mass                            

Fri: 12noon Mass followed by packed lunch


CAFOD Family Fast Collection came to £476.33 Thank you very much – Great response.


Passover Meal It is planned to hold it this year on Wednesday evening 28th March. If interested please place your names on the list at the back of church.


Alamanacs are now on sale at the back of church £3.00 per copy.


Baptism: The Course of Preparation part 2 is this Sunday 4th March 2018. The next courses (in two parts) will be on Sundays 6th May & 3rd June; 1st July & 5th Aug; 2nd Sept & 7th Oct; 4th Nov & 2nd Dec. All parents wanting their child to be Baptised in the next few months are expected to attend both sessions and attending Mass between times.


The Church will be open each day from 8.30am to 5pm (Thurs until 7.30pm). Please call in and use the opportunity to pray privately or even light a candle. Why not make it a Lenten resolve to call into church once a day to pray!


The Community Project Group is holding a jumble sale at the Parish Centre on March 24th Good quality' jumble and brick a brac required. Drop off details to follow. Watch this space.


Lenten Prayer Workshop - St Mary of the Assumption, Todmorden Road, Burnley, BB10 4AU This Lent there are three series of Prayer Workshops being offered across the Diocese. At each venue, over three evenings, participants will be introduced to different methods of prayer and invited to experience them as part of their Lenten Prayer

The Wednesday dates are: This Wednesday 7th, then14th and 21st March;

The evenings start at 7.30pm, with refreshments beforehand and finish at 9pm. While booking is not essential it would be help give an idea of numbers if people could email


Sacramental Programme The next meeting is this Tuesday 6th March at the back of church 6:30 prompt. There will be another meeting on Tuesday 13th March for those who can't make this Tuesday due to school commitments.
