Claire Munroe is our Caritas Representative for the parish and this weekend we welcome Meriel Woodward who works with CARITAS and will speak about their work at the end of Masses.

Passover Meal In the past, though not every year, we have served a Passover (Seder) Meal in the Jewish tradition. This gives us an insight into what was happening when Jesus shared this meal with his disciples the night before he died. To run one takes a lot of planning. If you would like to attend, or be involved, then please put your name down on the list at the back of Church so we can judge hoe much interest thee is. It is planned to hold it this year on Wednesday evening 28th March.

Baptism: The Courses of Preparation will begin on the following Sundays 4th Feb & 4th Mar 2018. Please contact Navada Keenan on 07930 204579 or e-mail keenannavada@gmail.com for more information. All parents who are wanting their child to be Baptised in the next few months are expected to attend both sessions.

Parish Council There will be a meeting of the Parish Council this Thursday evening at 7.30 in the Parish Centre. If anyone has any items that they feel ought to be raised at this meeting then please speak with either Fr John, Ursula Heyes (Chair-person) or any member of the Council who are as follows: Jennifer Pickles (Secretary), Tony Alveston, Liesel Baron, Cecilia Burton, John Burton, Francis Darwin, Eve Gattei, John Hughes, Maureen Mullen, Claire Munroe, Jean Partington, Maxine Pollard and one person from each of our schools.

Jimmy Armfield RIP It was with sadness this week that that we heard about the death of Jimmy Armfield. Jimmy had a loose connection with the parish as he came to formally open the new Heys Football Fields and changing rooms complex where the parish football teams play. He was an absolute gentleman and a real ambassador of football. A delight to meet.

The Church will be open each day from 8.30am to 5pm (Thurs until 7.30pm). Please call in and use the opportunity to pray privately or even light a candle.

There is plenty of news in the Monthly Newsletter for February – Please take one home to read. Until we find a new printer at a reasonable price then we will just publish in this format of there being two separate pages printed on both sides. So please make sure you take the front page of colour and the other page with the Prayer List on it. Thanks, Fr John
