Pastoral Letter from Bishop John There is a short Pastoral Letter from Bishop John this weekend as we draw to a close the consultation and now begin the period of implementation. Please keep parishes, where there are amalgamations or closures, in your prayers.


As this weekend is the 5th Sunday in Lent all crucifixes and statues are removed from view.


CAFOD The CAFOD collection for the crisis in East Africa has now raised £705.09


Passover Meal This year we will hold the Passover Meal in the Parish Centre. It will take place on Wednesday 12th April at 7pm. Cost £15 per head includes meal, tea/coffee and wine/soft drinks etc. If you wish to attend then please indicate on the list at the back of Church. Places are limited to 60 people. This is a superb occasion which helps explain the background to the Last Supper.


The parish office will be open Tues, Weds and Fri this week from 10 – 1pm. As Fr John is away more from the parish at the moment, please try to keep to the office hours when making an enquiry to ensure a quick response.


Collection Envelopes The envelopes are available for collection at the back of Church. Any problems then please speak with Sean Mullen or Fr John. The new envelopes come into use next weekend. Thanks for all you do to contribute to the parish.


Visits to Church The Church is now open during the day. Please make use of this and pay a visit to pray. At the back of church, there are copies of two meditations on the Stations of the Cross for use in the quietness of the church. Thanks to those who have locked up at the end of the day.


Parish Secretary Would you like to do some parish secretarial work to help Jean while Fr John is away so much? Experience necessary. Payment can be negotiated. Please speak to Jean in first instance.


Jubilee Celebrations – Golf Tournament As part of our celebrations there will be a Golf Tournament on Friday 7th July at Garstang Golf and Country Club. 1.30pm start. Cost £30 includes golf round, meal of soup and main course. Prizes to be won. £5 deposit required. Booking forms at the back of church. Open to anyone in the parish and friends of. We will conclude at the Parish Centre in the evening.
