Fr Joe Waring SJ is very seriously ill. He has celebrated Mass, here at St Mary's, at times when I have been away. Please keep him in your prayers.
Weekday Masses over the next few weeks With the exception of Requiems, weekday Masses will take place in the Presbytery with access via the Presbytery front or back door. Eucharistic Ministers taking Communion to the sick and housebound during the week will need to inform Fr John in order to get access to the Blessed Sacrament, which will not be kept in Church whilst the work is being carried out.
We will also need a team of volunteers to come and clean the church on Saturday afternoon from 3-4pm. There is a list at the back of church for each Saturday, whilst the work is ongoing, if you would like to volunteer.
The Parish Office will be open 10 – 1pm Tuesday & Wed, & Friday this week.
Next Sunday we are looking to give thanks for all the ministries that take place within the Church itself to enable our worship to take place with dignity and help us pray together as a family. So before Mass could all Cleaners, Flower Arrangers, Polishers, Sacristans, those who serve tea and coffee, attend the Piety Stall, and Readers assemble in the Sacristy. At the Offertory could all the Catechists and Apparitors please join the Offertory Procession. Could all Musicians and Choir members come up after Communion, and could all those who do the counting after Mass come up at the end of the notices please along with the Eucharistic Ministers. Thank you
Piety Stall - Christmas Cards are available to buy at the back of Church
Winter Pressures As we are now with the threat of snow etc, please could we ask for people to be aware of neighbours. It may be difficult for people to get shopping in for instance. May I also ask that if there is a fall of snow the paths to Church may need clearing. All help is welcome and I have always appreciated the great kindness and forethought that people have shown in the past.
