Feast of Ss Peter & Paul I have put the Vigil Mass at 7.30pm to give people time to get home from work. The 1.30pm Mass is for anyone but will be attended by our primary schools. I also have a 10.10 am Mass at Mt Carmel High school. Fr John
The Altar Fund We have now reached our target of £30,000 for the altar, baptismal font and ambo. Any further donations that are forthcoming will still go to the altar fund and intentions added. The generosity of many of you has been truly amazing. Thank you. We were also looking to re-carpet the sanctuary when the new altar, ambo and baptismal font were in place but due to the heating system being upgraded and the roof to be dealt with, we will not lay any carpets until that work is done, for obvious reasons. The present baptismal font will be placed at the rear of the church as a holy-water font.
Parish Reception for the Bishop Please print your name on the list at the back of Church if you would like to be invited to the Parish Reception to be held in the Parish Centre after the Mass. Food will be provided free of charge. Canapés for reception then full spread Buffet lunch. The list will close this weekend. This will give us time to prepare badges etc. Please remember that if you do not put your name to the list then there will be no room for you at the Parish Centre, due to health & safety and fire regulations. Badges will be handed out on arrival.
Nostalgia Evening – Fri 1st July 8pm - late The List is now closed. Please see the list at the back of church to check that you are on it and tick your name to say you have seen it. The price of £6 please pay on the night, which covers the supper. We are looking for helpers to set up the room for the night. We hope to do this on the Thursday evening from 8pm on 31st June. If you are able to help then please speak with either, Ursula Heyes, Jean Partington or Fr John.
Church Closed Due to the installing of the new altar, ambo and baptismal font, the church will be a building site between 3rd – 8th July and will therefore be "off limits" without authorisation due to "health and safety". Therefore, the Masses that week will be held in the sacristy, accessible through the Presbytery front door. It will not be possible to have any Requiems that week. Also, Eucharistic Ministers will need to arrange with Fr John if they wish to take Communion to the sick during the week. When the work is completed we will need a good number of volunteers to clean the church ready for the weekend. Please come along on Friday 8th July from 5pm onwards.
Monthly Newsletter The July monthly newsletter is due to be printed next weekend. Items need to be submitted by this Tuesday evening, at the latest
The Tablet This weekly Catholic magazine is available at the back of church for £3
