Holy Week Services this week will be as follows:-

Palm Sunday 29th March

There will be the annual walk of witness processing up to the Coppice to erect a steel cross. Please assemble on Broadway at 2.15pm for a 2.30pm start.


Monday 30th March            Mass                                                      9.15


Tuesday 31st March           Mass followed by Exposition & Confessions    18.00


Wednesday 1st April          Mass  followed by Exposition & Confessions   18.00                                   

Maundy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper     19.00 followed by Solemn Adoration until 21.00


Good Friday Stations of the Cross                                            14.00

Celebration of the Lord's Passion                                               15.00

There is also a Service of the Stations of the Cross up to the Coppice. Assemble at the top of Avenue Parade at 11.15am for 11.30am start


Holy Saturday 4th April Easter Vigil                                             20.00


There will be a Prayer Service held at the foot of the Cross on the Coppice at 7.30am


Easter Sunday 5th April Mass (with a Baptism)                        10.00


First Confessions will also be taking place after Masses on Tues and Wed in Holy Week

On Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday there is a three part TV series being shown on BBC2 at 8am about "The Gospel of John". The films are the start of a new project to try to put the life of Jesus into first century Palestine. Later in the year the synoptic Gospels will be shown. This is a good educational source.


A Spring Clean of the Church  will take place from 9.30am on Tuesday morning to polish the brasses, clean vessels, statues, candle sticks, crucifixes, water fonts etc. If you can spare some time please come along and help. Many hands make light work!


Chrism Mass I have 3 free tickets for the Chrism Mass on Thursday morning at Salford Cathedral. Please speak with Fr John if you would like to attend. Free transport provided.
