Logan Wood RIP You may have seen on the news or heard of the tragic death of Logan Wood whilst out riding his scrambling bike in a disused quarry in Whitworth. Logan was 12 years old and having been baptised here at St Mary's, he attended St Mary's Primary school before going on to Mount Carmel High. Tragedies like this really affect communities and St Mary's RCP and Mt Carmel have been shocked by the news. His family, relatives and friends, who are devastated, will be in our prayers as they try to come to terms with his death. At present I have no further news.

We have a New Bishop Pope Francis has appointed Bishop John Arnold, the present Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster, to be the new Bishop of Salford. Bishop John will be mentioned in Masses as the Bishop elect and Bishop Brain will be known as the Bishop Emeritus. A letter from Bishop Brain will be read out at Masses this weekend and copies will be available from the back of church.

Invitation to Fr Paul Blackburn's Induction as Parish Priest at St Joseph's If anyone wishes to attend, 7pm Friday 10th October, please sign the list at the back of church. There is a reception afterwards so we need numbers for catering etc

The Kneelers in Church.  We now need to bolt the kneelers back onto the benches. Those benches where the kneelers are fixed will need to be glued. Because of the risk involved with glue I have asked someone to do this job, but we need only a few volunteers to help with the bolting on. If you are able to help, please see Fr John and a time will then be arranged. Thank you
