The Parish Magazine The latest edition of the Parish Magazine is now available. Unfortunately due to a computer file glitch some of the articles have repetition in them, so John Hughes has issued addendums to go with the magazines to correct the articles. A suggested donation of a pound towards parish projects is suggested in return for a copy. Thanks to John Hughes for all his efforts in editing it. Thanks also to all advertisers and authors of articles. Enjoy the contents.

The Kneelers in Church have been removed for refurbishment. Please sit or stand during Mass at the appropriate times, as announced. Do not try to kneel. We will have them back for next weekend.

Bishop’s Synod on Marriage and Family Life  Next Sunday, 28th September, A Day of Prayer for the III Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops has been declared in preparation for this Synod, which takes place in October, to address the topic: The Pastoral Challenges of the Family in the Context of Evangelisation. This Synod will be discussing questions raised in a questionnaire circulated to everyone last November. Many from this parish responded.

Parish Centre The Parish Centre require volunteers to help to act as bar staff to keep the Centre running. If you would like to volunteer then please pop into the Centre one evening this week (not Mon) and let one of the Committee know. Volunteers need to be over 18 years of age.

Morris Homes are running a children’s drawing competition to “design a future home”. Morris would like the children to come up with creative designs for how they think homes will look in the future. The more creative the better, and they can be in any format i.e. A4, A3, 2D, 3D etc. Children will have two weeks to work on the designs (from 13th September until 27th September), when they will be sent to Morris for them to judge. Prizes will then be presented to winners after Mass on Saturday 11th October.
Cabaret Evening Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s are holding a “Cabaret Evening” at the Popular Club, Accrington on Saturday 11th Oct. Tickets are £25 each which includes a 3-course meal and entertainment. Further information on a poster on the parish notice-board.
