Collection Envelopes If you don’t have envelopes but would like some starting in April, then please see either, Sean Mullen, Jean Partington, or Fr John.
If you pay income tax and wish to come under the “Gift Aid” scheme, where the taxman gives us 27p in the pound back then again let us know if you are not already in the scheme. To do the scheme you must use envelopes or pay by direct debit. If you do not pay tax you can still have envelopes if you do not already have them.

Church Notice Boards We have new notice boards at the back of church! Please do not put a notice on without speaking with Fr John or Jean first. Hopefully information will be clearer to find, and read.

Appeal for New Sacristans If you would like to offer your time to help in the sacristy preparing for Mass, please see Fr John when he returns. This is ideal for anyone retired. To find out more please speak to a sacristan.

Winter shoppers:  If you find you need help with shopping, due to illness or bad weather, please ring 07786 500 480 and we will arrange this.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes 1-7 Aug 2014
The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place between 1 – 7 August (by air) or from 31 July – 8th August (overland). For further details see the notice board, or alternatively visit the diocesan website at www.salfordlourdes.co.uk

“Let all the People Sing”
There will be a “day of fun, prayer and singing” next Sat 8 Feb held at Fisher More RC High School, Gibfield Rd, Colne, BB8 8JT between 10am – 4pm with Mass. More details on the poster in Church. This would be ideal for and Choir members, teachers, or people interested in Church music.

Mt Carmel – Wizard of Oz Mt Carmel are performing “The Wizard of Oz” on Wed & Thurs 12/13 Feb starting at 7pm. Tickets are £4.00 adults; £2 children and £10 for  a family ticket (2 adults 2 children) available from the school.

Quiz Night: Parish Centre – Wednesdays at 8pm. Jackpot this week will be £20

Lourdes Group 2014 We are now at the stage of wanting to know who would like to volunteer to come along to act as a helper (adult or Junior aged 16-18) to Lourdes leaving Manchester 29 Aug and returning 5th September. The idea is to take up to 5 adults who have special needs. Costs can only be approximate at the moment of about £750 each, it may be cheaper and grants may be available. If you are interested please speak with Jane Burton (Group Leader), Maxine Pollard (Group Nurse) or Fr John (Group Chaplain). Volunteers need not be from the parish. There will be a meeting organised soon for those who show interest.

Lourdes Group Spare Change Boxes. Please return the full ones and take another empty one so we can carry on the excellent response we have had so far. Collecting points are now set up at the entrances and more boxes can be provided if there is demand. To date, donations from these boxes total £150.60. Thank you for your generosity.

Lourdes Group Grand Raffle Your chance to win £100, £50 or other very good prizes including M&S vouchers, whisky etc (full list at back of Church). Please take tickets and return ticket stubs and money and any unsold tickets (hopefully you will have sold them) to Church during February. If you wish to buy more tickets these will be available. The  draw at the coffee morning at Church on the 2nd March

Lourdes Group Cake Sale there will be a cake sale on Sat/Sun 1st/2nd March following Mass. Any bakers who have time to make a cake or buns are welcome to contribute.

Snow Clearance - we need to make contingencies to clear the paths so people can access the Church safely. It would be useful if we had a list of volunteers we can call on in such a case, as Fr John will not be able to do it. People may need to bring snow shovels/spades. We have rock salt.
